Black Belt Claudio Rocha and Purple Belt Wellington Brito under Master Ronny Lis will be there on the mats.

Darren visits Brazil

Darren Willingham "DB", Blue Belt student of Team Ronny Lis BJJ, went to Brazil to spend two weeks doing an intensive jiu–jitsu training at the associations of the team. He was accompanied by Master Ronny Lis and took the opportunity to meet the academy's Master Deo.

"It was very good to have known the great Master Deo, and my teacher Ronny Lis. I visited Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, and saw how beautiful it is, and I hope to return soon to compete against best," says DB.

South Austin Gym Remodel

South Austin Gym has undertaken a huge remodel of its 1st floor area this past weekend. Extra rooms and walls have been demolished, opening up the room to more than double the mat space! New mats have been put in place, along with a new elevated ring! Drop in to see the new and improved Martial Arts training area; now's the best time to start training again if you've been out of the game. Look for new programs and events to take place in the near future!

King of Kombat – Austin, TX

Congrats to Randy Vera (4–3–0), for his beautiful 2nd Round submission victory over Mitchell Hale (4–1–0)! It was a great fight with a close and exciting first round. Victory came at 4:15 in the second round after Randy performs a text book belly down armbar from the guard, forcing Mitchell to tap after repeated hyperextension of the arm. Team Ronny Lis and South Austin Gym were there in huge support, which was felt heavily by the rest of the crowd with his very own Randy chant.
